Facing Forward

Desiree

Prior to connecting to Facing Forward, Desiree’s three children had been placed in foster care while she was experiencing homelessness. With help from the Housing Navigation team at Facing Forward, Desiree was able to access stable housing and quickly gain employment. She was initially in a studio apartment at our Sanctuary Place housing complex, and just last month, she moved into a multi-bedroom apartment as part of her plan to reunify with her children. Back together in safe, stable housing and with support from a dedicated case manager, Desiree’s family is on track for a strong future.

Desiree recently sat down with NBC Chicago’s LeeAnn Trotter to share the inspirational story of her journey from homelessness to stability and reunification with her children. Check out the video here!
